A porous 2D cobalt-sulfonylcalix[4]arene coordination polymer for gas adsorption

2021
Abstract A 2D network [Co4(SC4A-SO2)(OH)(TDDA)2]− (H4SC4A-SO2 = p-tert-butylsulfonylcalix[4]arene, H2TDDA = 4,4′-(1,2,4,5-tetrazine-3,6-diyl)dibenzoic acid) was obtained by solvothermal method. Each shuttlecock-like Co4-(SC4A-SO2) secondary building unit is bonded by four TDDA ligands and bridged into a layer motif. The extended structure is constructed by stacking the layer motifs along the b axis, which exhibits some 1D channals rich of N atoms on the wall. This structure can adsorb 66.53 cm3 g−1 methane at 273K under 1 bar and 230.29 cm3 g−1 hydrogen at 77K under 1bar.
