Comportamientos colectivos inducidos por diversidad en sistemas din amicos espaciotemporales Collective behaviors induced by diversity in spatiotemporal dynamical systems

2011
We investigate the eects induced by dierent sources of heterogeneity in the collective behavior of spatiotemporal dynamical systems. We consider a network of globally coupled chaotic maps as a model with minimum ingredients that allows the characterization of heterogenity in a simple way. The inuence of heterogeneity in the intensity of couplings and in the degree of nonlinearity of the local maps is investigated. We study the emergence of nontrivial collective behavior, characterized by the evolution of the mean eld, as a function of the width of the dispersion of various parameters of the system. We also investigate the eects of time-varying heterogeneity. The results show that diversity in the parameters can induce macroscopic order coexisting with local chaos in spatiotemporal dynamical systems.
