Open-Chain Stability and Exciton State of Quasi-One- Dimensional Complex (ClO_4)_4

The numerical study of the open-chain stability and the self-trapped exciton state of quasi-one-dimensional complex (ClO_4)_4 in the framework of the Baeriswyl-Bishop model is presented. It is found that the parameter k′(=18 eV/nm) in the end-revision-term is chosen appropriately and the optical absorption band of the exciton is near 1.55 eV, which is in good agreement with the recent data observed by Wada et al.
