The Relationship of Managers Leadership Styles with Gender, Experience and Socio-Economic Status: An Analysis of Banking Sector Organizations

In organizational context, leadership plays a very important role in the success or failure of every organization. Researchers are o f the view that superior organizational performance is not a matter of luck; it is determin ed largely by choices leaders make. This paper aims to study the relationship of manager's l eadership style with age, gender and socio-economic status in the banking sector. The da ta about the construct validity of the scale for leadership styles was obtained through fa ctor analysis. Depending on component factor analysis, three sub-dimensions (Transformati onal leader, Transactional Leader, and Charismatic Leader) were reached. Moreover, the study revealed that some variables like gender, experience and socio-economic status of the mangers have an effect on the leadership style of manager's in the banking sector . This is a basic research and its result has added the previous literature available on lead ership styles and it can be applied to industry to improve the leadership styles of the ma nagers and increase organizational performance.
