Fully reconfigurable, 20 channel optical add-/drop multiplexer with integrated variable optical attenuators and power monitors

We present a highly integrated, reconfigurable optical add-/drop multiplexer. A single planar silica/silicon substrate serves as integration platform for arrayed waveguide gratings, switch matrix, attenuators and photodiodes of the 20 channel device.
