Imágenes de ciencia y tecnología en la construcción del imaginario colectivo tras la Revolución mexicana

espanolEl muralismo fue apoyado por el Gobierno revolucionario para integrar el discurso politico-educativo que tenia una orientacion bien definida: construir y difundir rasgos de identidad nacional diferentes a los del porfiriato, mismos que la Revolucion mexicana trastoco. Este trabajo pretende realizar un acercamiento a la posicion que ocuparon la ciencia y la tecnologia en la construccion de un nuevo imaginario colectivo y explicar los matices que su representacion alcanzo en tres edificios emblematicos del nuevo orden. Debido a la baja presencia de estos temas en el muralismo, se concluye que la ciencia y la tecnologia se introdujeron en algunas obras pictoricas debido a la irrupcion de sus frutos en la realidad social mexicana, sin que por ello formaran parte importante del programa artistico-didactico del muralismo. EnglishMuralism was supported by the revolutionary government in order to compose the political-educational discourse with a clearly definited orientation: to construct and spread features of national identity different from those of the Porfirian era that triggered the Mexican Revolution. This paper aims to examine the role of science and technology in the construction of a new collective imagination and to explain the nuances achieved by their representation in three emblematic buildings of the new order. Because these themes were infrequently represented, the proposed conclusion is that science and technology were introduced into some pictorial works due to their emerging benefits in Mexican social reality, but they did not comprise an important part of the artistic-didactic program of muralism.
