TEST OF LINEAR ELASTIC FRACTURE PROPERTIES AND FRACTURE TOUGHNESS OF CONCRETE

ABSTRACT In this paper the testing method is used to research the linear elastic fracture properties of concrete. According to the statistical theory of brittle rupture, a conversion formula of K Ic for the specimens of different sizes is derived to consider the size effect of K Ic of concrete and verified through experiments. The technology of Acoustic Emission is used to analysize the propagation of cracks and determine the instable cracking points of concrete. The fracture critical curves and the fracture cracking angle curves of mixed mode I and II of concrete are obtained. The test results of two types of specimens are very close to each other.
