Computer Numerical Control Machining of Steam Generator Oval Head

The head of a steam generator consists of several parts with different structures.Machining of a large circular arc surface and the inside and outside of the ellipsoid is a difficult task.This paper discusses the problem of manufacturing large parts in the steam generator oval head.By analyzing the part structure and technical difficulties,a manufacturing process and the main operation procedures are proposed,which include parametric control machining treatment.The process can give good results,confirmed by inspection on the manufactured thickness.
