Development of a New Ankle Rehabilitation Robot MKA-IV

2017
In an aging society, the number of patients with hemiplegia is rapidly increasing. A large number of hemiplegia survivors suffer from dyskinesia and need rehabilitation training. The traditional way of exercising places a heavy burden on the therapist. The goal of many researchers is to relieve the therapist's burden and improve exercise performance through the development of rehabilitation robots. However, most developed robotic systems are focused on functional training, neglecting early neurological rehabilitation of hemiparesis. Based on our previous research on ankle-rehabilitation robots, we propose a new ankle rehabilitation robot that provides a compact, simple solution to package design. This mechanism is designed to facilitate industrial production, application and promotion, the most important is good patient affinity, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of rehabilitation training. Robotic systems have been detailed in terms of powertrain design, motor catalog selection, and good performance.
