The strategic benefit of enhanced credibility: Environmental reporting at Anheuser-Busch

1999
Abstract The trends in voluntary corporate environmental reporting are being driven by a number of factors, not the least of which is the increased accessibility of environmental data from a variety of sources. The following case study reveals how reporting at Anheuser-Busch has evolved, from publications that emphasized positive stories on environmental management, to the present state-of-the-art report that details impacts that range from energy use to emissions. The ability to produce this document comes from a strategic approach that is a result of the growth of the Anheuser-Busch environmental, health, and safety (EHS) management system and an integrated approach with the communications department. Readers of CES will appreciate the success factors that authors Audrey Bamberger and Bert Share provide - translated into solid practitioner advice from thousands of hours of lived experience.
