Molecular Phylogenetic Research on Some Species of Camponotus (Hymenoptera:Formicidae)

2009
Nucleotide composition and Phylogenetic relationship among 12 species in Camponotus(Hymenoptera:Formicidae) based on 487 bp sequences of Cyt b gene were studied. The phylogenetic trees were constructed with NJ,MP and ML methods, and the results showed that these ants were divided into four lineages. The first lineage consist of 4 species,C.variegates,C.pseudoirritans,C.albosparsu and C.sp1.The second lineage 3 species,C.nicobarensis,C.sp2 and C.japonicus.The third 3 species,C.dolendus,C.spanis and C.mitis.And the rest 2 species,C.spanis and C.mitis belong to the fourth lineage. The taxonomic relationships and resolutions among species were definited. The molecular evidences of genetic distance defines C.sp as a new species of the Genus Camponotus.
