Isotope-selective trace-element detection with the thermionic diode

In this paper the authors report on first results applying a detection technique that is already well-established in atomic and molecular laser spectroscopy: the thermionic diode. Taking into account the extraordinary high detection sensitivity of the thermionic diode, it is likely that it becomes a tool for extreme trace-element detection in the near future.
