Influence of Nuclear Reaction Fragments on Single Event Effects During the Passage of Fast Protons Through Silicon
2020
The passage of protons with energy ranging from 100 MeV to 10 GeV through silicon is simulated using the Monte Carlo method. The number and the average energy of ions formed as a result of inelastic proton—nucleus collisions and the size of the region where the number of electron—hole pairs produced by charged nuclear reaction fragments exceeds that created by the primary proton are determined.
