One of the key parameters in the analysis and modeling of the frequency vibrato wave is its oscillating rate. In spite of its importance, this parameter has not been studied in detail, nor the more recent techniques in digital signal processing have been applied for its quantification. The main objective of this study is to determine the best methods for the frequency analysis of the vibrato to generate synthetic vibrato waves, to apply the chosen methods to synthetic and real waves, and to determine through error data a precise method for determining the frequency vibrato wave. Also, a new method for the determination of the frequency vibrato rate was developed, which brought results as good as the best of those other methods and much easier to use.
