Design and Implementation of PML Server for the Effective Traceability of Agro-Foods under the RFID Environments

2008
The purpose of this study is to develop a PML server by using RFID technology and to save and manage information on agro-foods effectively in the distribution environment of Agro-foods(as, agricultural products). In a PML server, static and dynamic information on agro-foods in EPC, which is transmitted from a RFID tag and reader, are recorded and managed in XML schema in real time. The server receives information from RFID middleware, SAVANT, and transfers data to a traceability management application system for agro-foods. The major developments for a PML server consist of an EPC data registry, query processor, data converter, instance data storage on agro-foods, system management tools, and application API, etc. By using the implemented RFID-based PML technology, this study aims to suggest a beneficiary model that can integrate Agro-foods-related information for providing advantages to farmers, distributors, and consumers altogether.
