RAD — Software Package for Calculations on Radionuclide Production and Radiation Doses

Software package RAD for calculations on radionuclide production and radiation doses induced by intermediate energy protons in a compound heterogeneous system is described. It is based on extensive experimental data combined in the following databases: radionuclide production cross section data, radionuclide decay chain data, and nuclide radioactive emission data. The evaluated excitation function database based on the existing experimental data and theoretical models for hadron-nucleus reactions is under development. The RAD application field concerns the following calculations: radionuclide production; airborn, soil and installation residual radioactivity; dose characteristics of induced radioactivity. The software package RAD is successfully used for designing experimental setups at the Moscow meson factory.
