How Military Service Affects Our Nurse Colleagues: A Personal Account
2013
How Military Service Affects Our Nurse Colleagues: A Personal Account Kyung Jun, RN, MSN, CNOR I wrote the story “How Military Service Affects Our Nurse Colleagues: A Personal Account”, Nurse Leader,Volume 11, Issue 5,1 to try to capture the essence of what it’s like to be a nurse in a war zone. The article is a personal account; I met with Brigitte again and hope the following will clarify a few things, including the confusion over military ranks. She enlisted in the navy, then became a nurse. She then joined the army reserve as a commissioned officer (second lieutenant, first lieutenant, and then captain). On all other matters, I would like to thank the reader for the corrections.
