Review of Z‐pinch research at Physics International Company

Three aspects of Z‐pinch research at Physics International are emphasized in this paper: The scaling of the radiated x‐ray yield of the Z‐pinch with discharge current; the scaling of the radiated x‐ray yield with the initia l radius of the imploding load; and the relative importance of streaming k inetic energy of the imploding plasma and ohmic heating for determining the x‐ray yield.
