Effect of multi-component carbides on the mechanical behavior of a multi-element alloy

2019
Abstract A (Fe 40 Co 50 Ni 10 ) 94 (TaNbZrVC 2 ) 6 multi-element alloy (MEA) was developed. The alloy is composed of a multi-component carbide (MCC) phase and two BCC solid solution phases. The compressive yield strength is about 1373 MPa, while the compressive plasticity is over 60% at room temperature, which is mainly contributed by the MCC strengthening phase.
