Expression and involvement of partitioning defective 3 in tumors

2017
Disruption of the cell polarity is figured as a hallmark of tumors. Accumulated evidence implicates that aberrant expression and mislocalization of polarity proteins have been found in varieties of tumors and contribute to proliferation, invasion and metastasis. As a signaling scaffold, the polarity protein family member partitioning defective 3 (Par3) plays a crucial role in cell polarity, oncogensis and tumor progression. This review elaborates the molecular mechanisms of the involvement of Par3 in tumors comprehensively. Key words: Partitioning defective 3; Tumor; Proliferation; Invasion; Metastasis
