Synthesis of novel organo- phosphorus C 60 dimers

2006
Carbon bridged organophosphorus C60 dimers were obtained by the reaction of aminome- thylenebisphosphonate anion with C60 and fully char- acterized by 1 HNMR, 31 PNMR, 13 CNMR, FT- MALDI-MS, FT-IR, UV-Vis, DEPT and HMBC, and the dimeric compounds undergo hydrolysis by using TMSI. Due to their outstanding physical and chemical properties, fullerene dimers have proven to be attractive nano-scale organic compounds in various fields such as nonlinear optics, organic materials, biology and medi- cine (1) . Among the fullerene dimers that have been re- ported, one contains fullerene-fullerene bonds, such as C121H2, C121O (2) , C120O2 in which the two C60 mole-
