A Personal Reflection on COVID-19's Spiritual Impact

The WHO document "Mental Health Considerations During the COVID-19 Outbreak" urges us to "be empathetic to those who are affected," not to address people with the disease as "COVID-19 cases" or "the diseased," and to "protect yourself and be supportive to others." COVID-19 PAUSES RELIGIOUS FREEDOM BUT KINDLES FAITH Human beings tend to turn to prayer in a time of crisis. [...]the COVID-19 pandemic reminds us that we are, deep down, spiritual beings, whether we realize it or not;and it makes us recognize that the problem of coronavirus, right here in our face, is a challenge requiring global cooperation and unity, a component of compassion to alleviate suffering, and a greater responsibility to exercise our faith to witness divine intervention.
