Experimental study of protection animals skin of three wild hamamelidaceae plants extract

2005
Three kinds of wild plant grown in Jiangxi province, namely Hamamelis mollis,Corylopsis sinensis and Liquidambar formosana were studied for their comprehensive protection effects on the skin of guinea-pigs.Samples of the plants were extracted using ethyl acetate as solvent and the extracts were treated separately by a series of tests, including bacteria (restraining) test, hot plate pain threshold test,anti-inflammation test, skin irritative test and strong UV irradiation test. The experimental results indicate that the extract has restraining effect on the bacteria used in the experiment, can enhance markedly the guinea's pain threshold, can alleviate the inflammation of guinea pig's ears induced by dimethylbenzene remarkablely. There were no skin irritative and allergic reactions under the experimental conditions.Smearing the extraction content could significantly reduce the concentration of malondialdehyde in UV irradiation induced in the guinea's skin.Obviously, the extract from these three plants using ethyl acetate as solvent have good comprehensive protection effects on restraining bacteria,analgesia,anti-inflammation and alleviate free radicals injury of guinea pig's skin resulted from UV irradiation.
