Measuring ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) in Georgian Academic Performance

Purpose of this research is Measuring ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) in Georgia. The present study is an applied descriptive-survey research. The statistical population includes professors of Georgian universities(Professors that are academic staff (and not invited lecturers) of schools of Business and Economics, Engineering and Health and Medicine).The population size is 120 and the sample size is 92 professors of 6 universities (State Universities including Georgian Technical University, Tbilisi State University, Ivane Javakhishvili State University and Private Universities including University of Georgia, Caucasus University, New-Vision University) of Georgia and the sampling method is simple random. In this study, a 32-item questionnaire was used. In connection with the validity of the CVR test, the rate of which is ./79In connection with reliability, Cronbach's alpha method was used, the rate of which was ./810Was obtained. Then the k-s test was used to check the normality with SPSS software and also a one-sample t-test with SPSS software was used. Conclusion showed the value of sig for Hypothesis 1,3,4,5,6,7 is less than α = .05, and thus H0 is rejected  and H1 is accepted. Also for hypothesis 2,8 the value of sig is upper than α = .05. Therefore, we conclude that ESD-related environment education and training and ESD-related training and guidance on the Georgia Disaster Prevention Index are effective in Georgia.
