Discussion on the Implementation of 3D Terrain Visualization druing the Planning and Design Stage

The lack of topographic data in the planning and design stage often leads to miscalculation and design errors.A convenient modeling method is put forward by adopting common software,such as Google Earth,Global Mapper,3DMax and so on to achieve the 3D terrain visualization and obtain general information of landscape.The modeling theory and detailed operation steps are introduced.Comparing with other conventional 3D models,the new model can be applied when design terrain precision is not strictly requested in planning stage and the feasibility of the method is further demonstrated.
