Current Status and Development of Tungsten Alloys Using in Warheads

Tungsten alloys have been widely used in synthesizing warheads due to their unique mechanical properties such as high density, high melting temperature, high strength and good machinability. First, the current research status and application progress of tungsten alloys were introduced in theoretical and applied research; then applied status and unsolved problems of tungsten alloys used in warheads were summarized from tungsten alloy penetrator, rocket, projectile and shaped charge liner. The property demands of tungsten alloys in warheads were emphatically introduced. And the future development trend of tungsten alloys in warheads was projected.
