Structure of the Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing Photonic Packet Switching Network Based on Single Direction Network Topology and Its Analysis

The multi-wavelength photonic packet switching network and its node structure were proposed based on the single direction network topology and Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing(DWDM) technology. The fixed routing arithmetic with optical buffer is simplified, and the packet loss and uniform traffic load are obtanined under the steady network traffic. It shows that the application of DWDM technology will decrease the quantity of packet switching network buffers dramatically, and also, the network performance will be improved.
