PESQUISA DE OVOS DE HELMINTOS INTESTINAIS NOS TERMINAIS AEROPORTUÁRIOS CARLOS DRUMMOND DE ANDRADE (PAMPULHA) - BELO HORIZONTE E TANCREDO NEVES – CONFINS – MINAS GERAIS

In this study, we evaluated, using the Graham technique (1941), the presence of eggs of intestinal helminths in samples collected from surfaces and objects in the airport terminals Carlos Drummond de Andrade (Pampulha) in Belo Horizonte and Tancredo Neves in Confins, MG. The interior of the airports was divided into three major areas: (1) common, (2) departure and arrival, (3) restricted to staff and one aircraft. The survey was performed in 2013. All slides were examined by binocular microscope at 10X and 40X magnification in the Helminthology and Medical Malacology Research Group at Rene Rachou Research Center (FIOCRUZMinas) in Belo Horizonte. The results indicated the absence of eggs on all surfaces and objects examined. Based on the results it may be inferred that the maintenance, regular cleaning and the environmental disinfection of the two airports was the main reason for the slides negativity
