Thermodynamics of solid Au-Sr alloys

Abstract Coulometric titration was performed to study Au–Sr alloys at 800°C between 0 and 42 at.% Sr, using SrF 2 solid electrolytes. The formation of Au 5 Sr and Au 2 Sr was confirmed in this concentration range from the activity isotherms. The range of homogeneity of these phases and their Gibbs energies of formation were determined.
