Acoustic Prediction of Elephants for Localization and Movement Tracking Using Sensors and Distance Metrics

The characteristics of sound had been useful for object localization in complex environments. The object considered for localization is elephant and its further movement had been tracked through Direction of Arrival (DoA) and Time of Arrival (ToA). Location estimation had been made using the sensors by measuring the time of arrival. Methods were proposed to obtain the localization of the elephant using sensor positioning and distance metrics. The Euclidean distance measure had been applied in determining the distance between the sensors positioned for object movement tracking. The results of the proposed work shows that the elephant localization results had been more accurate and their movements were tracked compared to the existing approaches.
