COPPER II-SELECTIVE MEMBRANE BASED ON A NEUTRAL CARRIER

A PVC membrane electrode based on 1-furoyl-3,3-diethylthiourea was prepared for Cu 2+ detection and determination. The proposed electrode exhibits a near- Nernstian behaviour over a wide concentration range (1,0 ⋅ 10 -7 to 1,0 ⋅ 10 -2 mol/dm 3 ), with a slope of 29,34 ± 0,6 mV/dec and with a practical detection limit (PDL) of 3,84 ⋅ 10 -7 and lower limit of linear response (LLLR) of 6,15 ⋅ 10 -7 mol/dm 3 and a life-time of 20 days. The dynamic response time and other characteristics of the electrodes were also studied.
