Method and system for realizing breakpoint transmission of multimedia message

The invention discloses a method and a system for realizing breakpoint transmission of multimedia message. the method includes steps that a mobile terminal arranges mark in newly edited multimedia message; when the mobile terminal is interrupted during process of transmitting the multimedia message, MMSC stores a received part of the multimedia message in a temporary file; when receiving a re-transmission indication, the mobile terminal transmits the mark of the multimedia message to the MMSC, the MMSC queries a multimedia message which is same with the mark in the stored temporary file, determines breakpoint position according to the mark associates the mark and the breakpoint position and returns the association to the mobile terminal, and the mobile terminal transmits data of the multimedia message after the breakpoint position associated with the mark to the MMSC. The invention increases multimedia message transmission efficiency by the mobile terminal and network utilization rate.
