Antenna Weighting System for a Uniform Linear Array based on Software Defined Radio

Beamforming is usually performed on antenna arrays by using micro-wave components to weight the radiating elements. The following work intends to develop a system able to perform beamforming and null-steering based on Software Defined Radio (SDR). The presented system can work over a wide frequency range by changing the program parameters without replacing the RF components as it would be necessary in conventional case. The needed programs have been implemented using GNU Radio and performance measurements have been performed using a four element Uniform Linear Array (ULA) that was previously characterized at ISL.
