Reduced Kinetic Mechanisms and NOx Formation in Diffusion Flames of CH4/C2H6 Mixtures
1993
Technical fuels very often consist of a mixture of several components with different physical and chemical properties. Since reduced mechanisms are typically derived for one-component fuels, the question arises whether the same reduction procedure can be used for multicomponent-fuels and whether these mechanisms are then valid for variable compositions. A prominent example for a gaseous multicomponent fuel is natural gas. Table 17.1 shows the composition of natural gas from various sources in Europe.
