Efficiency Enhancement of Transition Metal Dichalcogenide Based Solar Cells

2021
Two dimensional dichalcogenide have been considered as promising materials for the variety applications ranging from the nano electronics to solar photovoltaics due to their tunable band gap, high carrier transport and excellent matter light interaction. In this study, the WS2/WSe2 solar cell device has been simulated using newly developed software (SCAPS). Results obtained shows that an improvement in the solar cell efficiency with the increase of thickness and the acceptor density of the absorber layer can be achieved. The simulations shows the power conversion efficiency of 23.9% with Voc, Jsc, and fill factor (FF) as 1.29 V, 21.77 mA/cm2 and 89.38% respectively.
