Assessing Sustainability of Industrial Ecosystem in Shaanxi of China

Assessing sustainability of industrial ecosystem (SIE) is important reference for the sound sustainable development of industrial ecosystem. Based on the principle of the triple bottom line, combined with the actual situation of Shaanxi, this paper constructed a comprehensive evaluation system for SIE with the subsystems of economy, society and environment. The composite index of SIE was based on the data from 2008 to 2018, using method of entropy to allocate the weights. The assessment results indicate that the grade of Shaanxi SIE evolved to high level year by year, showing a steady trend of improvement. It can be interpreted that combined effect of the adjustment and optimization of industrial structure and emission reduction are significant, and there is room for further improvement of SIE. The policy guidance plays a significant role in the sustainable development of industrial ecosystem.
