Educational processes in health consolidated in the context of sex work

In this article we present results of research conducted during Master's degree in education in order to identify the educational processes in health consolidated in the context of sex work performed in nightclubs in Sao Carlos/SP. The contributions of popular education have shaped the methodology of these polls favoring coexistence, dialogue and the quest to know the reality experienced by prostitutes participants of research. Thus, we will discuss the contributions of this framework for research with prostitutes and then we will present the educational processes in health, as well as some vulnerabilities in sex work. From the results obtained, it was observed that prostitutes learn in the relationships established in the exercise of sex work. Contrary to approaches that insist on portraying prostitutes as victims, the analysis of declarations by the research participants allows us to consider that they have knowledge and they create strategies for promoting health and reducing vulnerabilities they face in exercising their occupation. We want the data now presented might give rise to reflections that encourage the development of actions aimed at promoting health of women prostitutes. Neste artigo, apresentaremos resultados de pesquisas desenvolvidas durante curso de mestrado em educacao, com objetivo de identificar processos educativos em sau- de consolidados no contexto do trabalho sexual exercido em casas noturnas da cidade de Sao Carlos/SP. Os aportes da Educacao Popular embasaram as metodologias das referidas pesquisas, favorecendo a convivencia, o dialogo e a busca por conhecer a realidade vivenciada por prostitutas participantes da pesquisa. Destarte, discorreremos sobre as contribuicoes desse referencial para pesquisa em contextos prostitucionais e, a seguir, apresentaremos processos educativos em saude, bem como algumas vulnerabilidades do trabalho sexual. A partir dos resultados obtidos, foi possivel observar que prostitutas tanto aprendem como ensinam nas relacoes estabelecidas no exercicio do trabalho sexual. Contrariando abordagens que insistem em retratar as prostitutas como vitimas, a analise dos depoimentos cedidos pelas participantes da pesquisa permite-nos considerar que elas possuem saberes e criam estrategias para promocao de sua saude e reducao das vulnerabilidades com que se deparam no exercicio de sua ocupacao. Almejamos que os dados, ora apresentados possam suscitar reflexoes que favorecam o desenvolvimento de acoes voltadas a promocao da saude da mulher prostituta.
