A New High-Step-Up DC-DC Converter using Three-Windings Transformer and Soft-Switching for use in Photovoltaic Systems

In this paper, a new High-Step-Up DC-DC Converter is introduced for application in PV systems. The provided topology includes a boost converter using coupled inductors to increase the voltage gain. It has advantages such as continuous input current, high efficiency, the use of three-winding coupled inductors for raising the voltage gain, the use of the soft-switching method to reduce the losses on the diodes and reduce voltage stress on the switch, as well as eliminate the problem of reverse recovery diodes. The only switch on this Converter is switched under Zero-Current-Switching (ZCS), and also, all the diodes are switched on and off under Zero-Current-Switching. The voltage stress on the switch and all the diodes is much lower than the output voltage, and this makes the efficiency of this converter higher than 95%.
