The Creation of Collaborative Cyber Physical Environments for Micro Assembly

Micro assembly refers to the assembly and manipulation of micron sized devices. This paper discusses an innovative cyber physical framework for the domain of micro assembly, which includes both cyber and physical components and resources. An advanced Virtual Assembly environment has been developed which is integrated to an assembly planning module and a path planning module. A cloud computing based approach is proposed to support collaboration and sharing of process engineering activities including assembly simulation scenarios and camera monitoring tasks among the distributed resources.Copyright © 2015 by ASME
