Based on own data, the basis concept concerning probiotic bifidobacteria and lactobacilli as producers of adaptable and controlled network of functionally coupled antibiotics/antimycotics-like agents of lectin and lectin-like types. They act within an organized and ordered/ directed system(s) of metabolome-biotics distinct from antibiotics, but reveal other (expanded) mechanisms to increase effectiveness of the integral resistant protective network. They include probiotic lectin and postbiotic systems of the promised prophylactic and therapeutic significance in future.
