German Noun Gender: A Matter of Memorization?.

One should not infer from the results of this study that Horspiele offer little or no advantage over other written materials in bridging the gap between speaking and reading. Factors such as sentence length, grammatical complexity, and the density of new words are also important considerations in selecting suitable materials for the early stages of reading instruction. These aspects, however, were not investigated in this study. It is suggested that further research in these areas be conducted to help determine with greater objectivity the pedagogical potential of Hbrspiele.
