Persecución política y estrategias de apoyo financiero entre san martín y o‟higgins (1823)

espanolSe analiza la correspondencia epistolar mantenida en 1823 entre San Martin y O‟Higgins, utilizando instrumentos conceptuales de la Historia de las emociones. Se concluye que la experiencia acaecida ese ano demando la utilizacion de un discurso emocional cuyo objetivo fue la planificacion de estrategias de apoyo financiero. Este discurso fue efectivo en cuanto el acervo cultural de ambos les permitia y les obligaba a sentir empatia. El miedo experimentado a raiz de las abdicaciones, la inestabilidad economica y la persecucion caudillista los motivo a utilizar esta emocion como un recurso para desplazarse a un contexto de mayor seguridad. EnglishIn the present study, we will analyze the epistolary correspondence maintained in 1823 between Don Jose de San Martin and Bernardo O‟Higgins, using conceptual instruments of the History of Emotions. It is concluded that the experience that occurred in that period demanded the use of an emotional discourse whose objective was the planning of financial support strategies. This speech was effective as the cultural heritage of both allowed them and forced them to feel empathy. The fear experienced as a result of the abdications, the economic instability and the caudillist persecution motivated them to use this emotion as a resource to move to a context of greater security
