Statistical analysis of partial discharge aging of insulating materials

The phase analysis of the discharge magnitude distribution is examined in connection with the prediction of breakdown due to void discharge aging. Two new parameters, G and C, are proposed to indicate the SPMD (swarming pulsed micro discharge), the main prebreakdown mode, G is the center of gravity and C is the gradient of the discharge magnitude distribution. When SPMD occurs, the breakdown of an insulating material can be predicted using the proposed parameters. >
