ASESMEN GOOD AGRICULTURAL PRACTICES DAN HUBUNGANNYA DENGAN PRODUKSI LADA DI DESA MUARA RUNGGA KECAMATAN PASEMAH AIR KERUH KABUPATEN EMPAT LAWANG

Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) are cultivation guidelines in the agricultural sector. Implementation of GAP in pepper cultivation can increase production and produce high quality pepper. This study aims to (1) describe the level of GAP application in pepper farming in Muara Rungga Village (2) calculate the amount of production and income received by farmers from pepper farming (3) analyze the effect of GAP application on pepper production in Muara Rungga Village. This research was conducted in Muara Rungga Village, Pasemah Air Keruh District, Empat Lawang Regency, South Sumatra Province. Data collection was carried out in September - October 2020. The method used in the study was survey method with a questionnaire and direct interviews. The sampling method used was simple random sampling method with total sample of 30 pepper farmers. The results showed that the level of GAP application in pepper farming on land selection, soil management, water management, planting of pepper seeds, maintenance, pest and disease control, harvest and post-harvest were not in accordance with GAP criteria. The average production of pepper in Muara Rungga Village was 600 kg per area cultivableand the average income of pepper farming is IDR 12.736.839 per area cultivable per year. Soil management, maintenance, pest and disease control, harvest and post-harvest variables had significant influence on pepper production. Variables of land selection, water management, and planting of pepper seeds had no effect on pepper production.
