A Dynamic Hysteresis Model for MR Dampers Based on Particle Swarm Optimization

Magnetorheological(MR) damper is promising vibration control device for vibration mitigation application. However, due to the inherent hysteresis of MR damper, one of the challenging aspects to achieve high performance is the development of models that can accurately describe this unique characteristic. In this paper, a dynamic hysteresis model is proposed to describe the force-velocity property of MR damper with different current excitation. Then modified particle swarm optimization (MPSO)is utilized to identify the parameters in the model. The experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method.
