The embodiment of the invention provides an image processing method and device based on a large-screen LCM. The method comprises the steps that the data of an image to be displayed is determined as multiple different image data blocks, wherein the image data blocks are partitioned based on back light for boundary division to be segmented; the image data blocks are determined as multiple image data subblocks; the luminance component and chromaticity component of the image data subblocks are determined; according to the luminance component of the image data subblocks and the difference between the back light value of the image data subblocks and the back light value of the image data blocks where the image data subblocks are located, the compensation luminance component of the image data subblocks is determined; according to the compensation luminance component and the chromaticity component of the image data subblocks, the display image data of the image data subblocks is determined. The image of each subarea of the image to be displayed is adjusted more finely, and the quality of the output image to be displayed is better.
