The research detailed in this report clearly illustrates that policing by consent is reliant on propinquitous relationships. This has a variety of implications for Tasmanian Police in relation to the training and preparedness of officers to work in rural, regional and remote (RRR) communities, as well as the existing policy that requires officers to be re-deployed to other stations and commands after their term in RRR communities.
