The research reflection that is carried out in this text, considers those communicative competences that are promoted at the moment of producing the wall newspaper. The first semester students of communication of the Universidad Catholic Popular of Risaralda have the task of building written press (La Pared) with the guidance of an editor teacher, who gives knowledge, experience and moves a communicative construction process. In order to do this, the methodology that was used was the categorical analysis. Each of these micro-categories work beside a value, an attitude and a rule. The observed categories are 14: Comprehension, trust, compromise, creativity, responsibility, leadership, bravery, equality, loyalty, honesty, solidarity, tolerance, team work and integrity. The results of the analysis show the need of generating systematic strategies that start from the first school years and still during the whole educative life including high school and university. In each moment of the process it is outstanding the meaning of the learning environment that deals with the improvement of the communicative competences.
