FAME und Mischungen von Heizöl Extra Leicht mit FAME als Brennstoff: Chemische und technische Aspekte

2004
FAME (Fatty Acid Methyl Ester) is the overall term for a fuel known with the trade name biodiesel used as automotive and heating fuel. FAME is quite similar in some product parameters with middeldestillates based on mineral oil like diesel (DK) and light heating oil (LHO). For this reason biodiesel is used in the European market for a few years as automotive fuel as pure FAME or as a blending component to diesel. FAME as heating fuel or blending component to light heating oil has not been investigated intensively. A lot of questions in respect to the operation behaviour and the fuel stability are under investigation. In two European projects, BIOSTAB [1] (stability of biodiesel) and BIOFLAM [2] (development of a new innovative condensing boiler) analysis and tests with blends of LHO+FAME as heating fuel were carried out.
