Profilo- pilosimètre pour matériaux fibreux souples

2007
This study uses the bending flexibility of textile materials in order to light surface sample in tangential incidence. Thus, emergent fibres, which form superficial hairiness on the surface, can be characterized allowing then the evaluation of the surface profile. Lighting a textile fabric with a laser beam tangential to the material leads to the obtaining of the shadow of the structure relief and of the surface hairiness. The corresponding image shows hairiness in black on a white ground. The suppression of the direct component with an optical spatial filter brings about to have hairiness and profile in white on a black ground. Structure profile and hairiness can be separated by image processing. Each information, hairiness and profile, is numerically filtered with a specific technique and is then explored.
